Which Auto Insurance Company is the Best at Handling Claims? The Survey Data May Surprise You!

If you're looking to find the best auto insurance company as far as handling claims, you might be quite a bit surprised at the results you're about to see. A lot of different things are involved when it comes to auto insurance claim satisfaction such as timeliness, customer service, meeting expectations,..... things like that.

The main source used in this study is from JD power and Associates. They publish an annual auto insurance claim satisfaction study, and their 2013 study was just released several months ago. JD power surveyed 11,500 people who'd recently filed claims within the last year.

Key conclusions and findings:

• The conclusion to be drawn here is that there is very little difference from one company to the next as far as handling claims. The highest company rated 88.9% and the lowest rated company rated 81.8%. That's only a difference of 7.1% between the best and the worst.

• Word of mouth is unreliable when it comes how good/bad a company does with handling claims. The lowest rated company had a satisfaction rate of about 4 in every 5 claims. Likewise, even the highest rated companies had their share of complaints as well. But when you compile thousands of claims experiences, there really doesn't seem to be a whole lot of difference. Certainly not enough that one should be concerned about.

• When selecting an auto insurance company, it is more important to be concerned with selecting the right type of coverage than it is to be worried about whether or not the company will step up if you need to file a claim.
